Microdermal needling involves treating your skin by creating tiny punctures with superfine needles contained in the MDPen. The micro pricks prompt your cells to trigger the natural healing process to create smoother, rejuvenated skin. Your skin produces new collagen and elastin, compounds that give skin its springiness and resiliency, as well as new capillaries for improved circulation.
The process is minimally invasive and does not damage the top layer of your skin. Best of all, you don’t subject your skin to harsh chemical peels or burning lasers.
Microneedling is effective for a number of different skin issues, including:
- Acne scars
- Skin laxity
- Overly large pores
- Stretch marks
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Photo aging or sun damage
Microneedling may also improve the appearance of scars and boost your skin’s texture, color, and tone. It’s safe on all skin types.
Three types of microneedling
We offer three differents microneedling treatments, depending on your goals and the health of your skin. The team works with you to determine which one is best for your situation.
The most shallow microneedling treatment
improving your skin’s texture and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
A licensed nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant performs the Intense procedure.
The treatment uses deeper settings to create a more robust stimulation of collagen and elastin and to allow anti-aging serums to penetrate most effectively.
The type of treatment you receive determines the size of needle and depth of their penetration. The needles are quite tiny, and most people tolerate the procedures well, but if you do have sensitive skin, ask the staff about using a numbing cream prior to treatment.
Following the procedure, expect to have some redness and swelling, which resolves within two to four days. The full effects of the treatment become evident in about one week.
